About the Teachers

Mrs. Babinicz

Hi! My name is Stacey Babinicz. This year will be my 16th year teaching and my first year teaching at Monarch.  I have taught both 2nd and 3rd grades in private and public schools. I am excited to teach 5th grade this year and I can't wait to get to know my "class family!"  My husband and I have three children.  Our oldest daughter is in 8th grade at Langston Charter Middle School. Our middle daughter is in 4th grade and our son is in 1st grade. They both attend school here at Monarch! In our free time, our family loves spending time on Lake Keowee, taking walks, and watching movies.  It is going to be a fantastic year and I can't wait to make memories together!

Ms. Crowley

The 2023-2024 school year is my 16th year of teaching, and my 11th at Monarch. I have taught both 4th and 5th grades. I was born and raised in Greer, SC, so I am a product of Greenville County Schools! I graduated from Riverside High School and then had the BEST four years of college EVER at Clemson University, graduating in 2008 with my Elementary Education degree. Go Tigers! My parents are both retired educators  from Greenville County Schools; my dad was a principal and my mom was a teacher, too! I have one younger brother who lives in Atlanta and a younger sister who lives in Asheville with her husband, dog, and new baby girl. I love to run, shop, read, enjoy local coffee shops, get my nails done, and spend time with my family and friends. I love iced oat milk lattes of any fun flavor, Mexican food, and anything fall and pumpkin. I can't wait to have the best year ever together in 5th grade!

Mr. Grant

I have been married for 22 years and have 4 children: three girls and one boy.  We have a fat cat named Gracie.  We like to spend time together by visiting Pigeon Forge, TN.  This summer we went to Jekyll Island, GA and Pigeon Forge, TN.  My favorite fruit is blueberries and my favorite food is Mexican food. My favorite movies are the Star Wars series. My favorite color is yellow. I have been working with children since 1999. I have taught both fifth grade and fourth grades. I started teaching in 2014. I graduated from North Greenville University and Converse College. I look forward to working with your child this school year!

Mrs. Mauhar

Hi! My name is Krissy Mauhar and this is my sixth year of teaching and fifth year at Monarch. I went to Clemson for my undergraduate degree and then attended College of Charleston for my Masters in Teaching. I taught in Charleston for a year after graduating and decided to move back to the Upstate. My husband, Matthew, and I live in Travelers Rest. We have a spoiled Goldendoodle named Roo. When I’m not at school, I enjoy traveling, doing anything outside, reading, shopping, attending Clemson football games, and spending lots of time with my family!

Mrs. Tuttle

This is my 15th year teaching and my 5th year at Monarch. I taught middle school science for 10 years before coming to 5th grade. I have a BS in Marine Science from the University of South Carolina and an MAT in Elementary Education from the College of Charleston. I previously worked as a marine educator at the SC Department of Natural Resources, where I led salt marsh tours, touch tank programs, and estuary excursions aboard an education vessel in the Charleston Harbor and the ACE Basin. I grew up in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School. I am married and have four children, my daughter is a freshman in college and my sons are in 11th, 8th, and 5th grades. My parents are retired teachers, and both my husband and my sister are teachers in Anderson One School District. My family loves to travel to National Parks- we have been to 40 as a family, and all by car! I also enjoy reading, running, hiking, camping, being outdoors, baking, cooking, and learning new things!
