My name is Amber Schneider and I am in my 5th year as the school counselor for Lamar Elementary.  Before becoming a counselor, I taught in GISD for 15 years.  I also am a product of GISD.  I attended Travis Elementary, Intermediate School, Greenville Middle School, and Greenville High School, graduating in 1999.  I attended Texas Woman's University for my undergrad in Interdisciplinary Studies (focusing on English Literature and Business) and Texas A&M-Commerce for my Teaching Certification.  I graduated with my Master of Science in Professional School Counseling from Angelo State University in 2021.  I have been married for 18 years to a firefighter/paramedic and we have two amazing kiddos, an 8th-grade daughter and a 5th-grade son. 

As the school counselor, I teach guidance lessons to all grades K-4, conduct individual and small group counseling, as well as connect students and families with resources that help meet their needs both inside and outside of the classroom.
