• Where can I find the Community Service Verification form?

The Community Service Verification form can be found on the Member Information page. Please download the fillable PDF file, fill it in, print a copy to submit, and save a copy for your records.

• What counts as community service?

Volunteer service may include tutoring students or working for a charitable organization (without pay). Hours may be counted if completed any time in the last 6 months. When volunteering along with a family member, the service must be for a recognized nonprofit group (civic organizations or events, etc.). If there are any questions about the validity of your anticipated service participation, please ask. Members are required to complete 15 hours per semester, including at least five hours for the school community.

• I am going to miss an event for NHS, is there an absence/excuse form I can fill out?

Yes, please fill out a National Honor Society Absent note, found on the Member Information page. Download the PDF file, print a copy, fill it in, and submit, and save the bottom portion for your records. Your attendance at events and meetings is critical to our success as an organization, but emergencies do occur. Please make every effort to attend all meetings and events.
