Come co-create a strategy inspired by a panel of experts and world café with your peers to find our voice (as Vancouverites) on the climate crisis and actions to take both as individuals and as a community.
Every year for a single day, the Climate Reality Project unites the globe demanding solutions to the climate crisis. Join us (The Vancouver Climate Hub), the evening of Thursday November 21st, 2019 at 6:00pm. We’re coming together in support of 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action to find our voice (as Vancouverites) on the climate crisis and actions to take both as individuals and as a community.
Our panel of experts will open the evening and include:
· Jennifer Tan, (our moderator!), Senior Consultant, Vancity Community Investment Bank
· Jae Mather, Board member of the Board of Change, Co-Founder of the Carbon Free Group

· Matt Horne, Climate Policy Manager at the City of Vancouver
· Justine Clift, Senior Transport Planning Engineer on City of Vancouver’s Transportation Planning team
· Nelson Lee, Climate Action & Sustainability Advisor
It’ll be an evening focused on the co-creation of strategy with expert speakers and a world cafe portion to engage the public on topics related to the SDG goals 11 (communities, sustainability, affordability, good transportation), 13 (taking urgent action to combat climate change), and 17 (revitalization of partnerships). Key questions for the evening include: How can the public hold gov’t accountable?
Location (may change*): Chinatown Peace Church - 375 East Pender (map link)

How does Vancouver stack up to its peers on the indicators below? What can we learn from cities that are leading the country? Take five minutes to help us answer these questions.
From August 15th to October 31st, the National Climate League invites you to send your town/city councillor a quick message (like this example) asking that their staff submit the data that matters most to you!
The 2018 National Climate League standings will be published again at ClimateHub.ca in December 2019.
In December 2019, during COP25, the Climate Reality Project Canada will be publishing the first snapshot of where cities in Canada are on climate action which is exciting and most importantly, citizen driven, citizen science, citizen led.
