What is it?
The festival is an annual celebration of reading and writing with several schools in the area and held at Kent State University.
Who can attend?
Any seventh or eighth grader from Green Middle School who meets the reading requirements.
When is it?
Tuesday, April 30, 2025 from 8:30 am to 4 pm
Where is it?
Kent State University, main branch (See the banner picture above.) Go Flashes!
We take a bus from Green Middle School to Kent.
What do you do there?
You hear a presentation from a featured writer.
You get the opportunity to have books signed. (This is optional and requires your own book.)
You sign up for and participate in fun activities centered around the books you've read.
You eat lunch on your own in the Kent State student center. Plan to bring your own lunch.
You can move through your day with a friend if you both sign up for the same workshops.
What do I have to do to attend?
Read all six books! That's it. Please note that the books are AWESOME.
One option is to participate in the Festival book club. See Mrs. Nicodemo in the library for details.
Does it cost anything for me to go?
The cost for each student to attend the Festival is $20.
You must bring your own lunch. Please note that your lunch is not able to be refrigerated.
If you want a book signed, you are responsible for bringing or buying your own copy, which are on sale at the Festival. You are not required to get a book signed.
