School Counselor

As a school counselor, I am an advocate for all students. I offer academic and social/emotional support in a variety of ways. I coordinate individual, small group, and classroom lessons on topics including, but not limited to - kindness, empathy, diversity, goal-setting, self-esteem, stress management, coping skills, character building, anger management, healthy relationships, study skills, and grief.  Each student is an individual, with unique qualities and challenges, and I encourage them to see themselves as I see them—with unconditional positive regard. Students are encouraged to focus on their strengths and to learn to utilize them appropriately in order to achieve their goals. I try my best to reach out to students every day, whether they are in class, in the cafeteria, on the playground, or walking in the halls. It is important that they feel seen, heard, and supported.

Anti-Bullying Specialist

As the Anti-Bullying Specialist at Green Hills School, I am responsible for helping to create a positive and respectful school climate for every student. If a student witnesses or feels as though they have been the victim of Harassment, Intimidation, or Bullying, they should reach out to me as soon as possible to report the incident. There is a locked "Bully Box" outside of my classroom where they are able to leave a note if they do not feel comfortable reporting in person.  I also welcome and encourage open communication and collaboration with parents who may feel as though their child has been the victim of bullying or harassment.
