During December 2020, the 8th graders of Team Inspire investigated the history of slavery in the Americas. Together, they created this virtual quilt to express their understanding that:
Slavery was a devastating tragedy for millions
Individuals and communities triumphed over slavery through resistance, rebellion, ingenuity and bravery
Each quilt square includes African textile designs, Adinkra symbols, key ideas, the name of an individual who was enslaved and a visual representation of triumph and tragedy.
