DIRECTIONS: In order to familiarize yourself with an array of perspectives on topics currently being debated, you will look at various opinion columns from suggested sites. Make sure they are editorial articles, opinion columns, or Op-Ed pieces (not “lifestyle” columns like “Dear Abby” or regular news stories that attempt to come across as unbiased). Click on titles that seem interesting for a variety of reasons and/or that seem to fit the topic areas provided. Spend 10-15 minutes exploring the sites. It’s a great idea to look at some you think you’d agree with, some that seem outrageous, and some that stretch you past your comfort zone. Fill in at least FOUR of the categories in the chart with a current article title, link, and 2-3 sentence summary.
