Ms. Manes

Restorative Justice Coordinator

Mindy Manes is honored to serve as the Restorative Justice Facilitator for Fairfax Learning Center. Her prior roles with students include mentoring young women as a Girl Scout leader for over 18 years, and working as the Innovation Strategist at Johnson County Community College, one of America’s top ten community colleges. While there, she held roles in Sustainability, Strategic Partnerships and Learner Engagement, winning numerous awards for her work with students.

Connecting with some of the world’s most innovative organizations in her previous role as Chief Operating Officer of the Edison Awards, Mindy continues to serve as a Steering Committee member. Her career background ranges from working with artists at Hallmark Cards and operations at Morgan Stanley to employment on some of the country’s largest construction projects.

As a Kansas Supreme Court-approved mediator, resolving court cases between agitated parties leaves her feeling happy and relaxed; her husband points out that arguing with him seems to not have the same effect. She serves as a Commissioner and Chair for the Overland Park, Kansas Police Department to whom she recently reported a middle-of- the-night break-in that turned out to be a possum.
