Highlights From The Principal

Dear Early College Academy Families,

I want to take a moment to thank you all for your continued support and partnership. We are proud of the hard work and dedication our students have shown so far.

Looking back at the last month, our Fall Festival was a success, and participation in last month's Parent Teacher Conferences helped continue to build vital partnerships and engage with families to support the success of all students here at Early College Academy.

October brings many exciting events and opportunities. We opened the month with Spirit Week, and look forward to Free College Application Days, Field Trips, UNC /D6 Senior Jumpstart, NMSQT, and PSAT, and two long weekends to enjoy the onset of Autumn.

Thank you for all that you do to make our school community strong!

Warm regards,

Bill Fearn, ECA Principal

Upcoming Testing, October 23rd

On October 23rd, students will participate in the NMSQT/PSAT testing. Students should arrive at their normal time and be prepared with their fully charged school-issued computers. Testing will conclude earlier than the regular school day, and students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM. Please make any necessary transportation arrangements.

Thank you for your support in ensuring your student is ready for this important day!

Food Pantry

Our Food Pantry is now open! Nutrition Services is providing free food items for any students and families that are experiencing food insecurity. There are no prequalifications and no paperwork needed to access this food, simply take one or a few items as needed and check off on the clipboard what items have been taken. Do not record your name or any other information, we only need to account for what items need to be restocked.

Need Resources?

Looking for resources from health to Community Assistance? Weld Project Connect is hosting an all day event on October 17th from 12:00 to 5:30pm at Island Grove.

Access to Aims

Attendance Matters

Going to school regularly in high school is very important for doing well in class and growing as a person. When students show up every day, they can better understand what is being taught, join in-class activities, and finish their work on time. Good attendance also helps students learn how to manage their time, be responsible, and stay organized—skills that are useful later in life. Plus, being in school regularly helps students make friends and build strong relationships with teachers, making school a more positive and supportive place to be. We highly encourage all of our families to schedule their vacations during the upcoming breaks in November and December.

If your child is sick or will not be at school because of an emergency, please call the front office to excuse their absence at 970-348-5800.

Parent Teacher Conferences & FSA ID Night

Our next Parent Teacher Conferences will be held on November 6th, 2024. From 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm will be by invitation from a staff member. Then we will have an open house for all to come from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

During this time, we will also be supporting families in getting ahead of the FAFSA application. We'll be available to assist you in creating your FSA ID, which is a crucial first step for financial aid. Don't miss this opportunity to set your student up for success!

Halloween reminders

As we look forward to celebrating Halloween this year, we welcome students getting into the holiday spirit. Please make sure your students follow these expectations if they choose to bring or wear a costume to school on October 31st:

  • Costumes must not violate school dress code;

  • no masks or face makeup that obscures a student's identity;

  • no inflatable costumes;

  • no fake weapons or other items that would not normally be allowed in a school;

  • keep it clean/school appropriate (examples: no gore, no adult themed costumes)

We look foreward to seeing creative, fun costumes within these guidelines!

The ECA Fall Dance will be held on November 1st from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Aims Welcome Center.
