Academic Lab

Course Description:

This academic lab serves for students who need extra support that they cannot get in the general education classroom. This class helps give students the skills needed for the classroom. We do re teaching and pre teaching as well.

COVID-19 Rules and Expectations

Masks will be worn in the classroom at all times.

Eating is only allowed at certain times determined by teacher

Students will have assigned seats

Phones will only be allowed during designated tech breaks

Try to social distance as much as possible

Students should bring their own water in a reusable bottle to minimize use and touching of water fountains.

Drinking fountains will be shut off during the day. Sinks and our bottle filler will remain on to fill bottles throughout the day.



Class Expectations:

#1- Be Respectful!

…of yourself, of your teacher, of your peers, of school rules/policies, of others’ property, etc.

2- Be Punctual!

Avoid tardies and excessive absences.

#3- Be Prepared!

Come to class with everything you will need to succeed.

#4- Be Positive!

Don’t put yourself down and don’t put others down.

#5- Be True to Yourself!

Give 110% effort in all that you do! Remind yourself that YOU CAN SUCCEED!

Student Responsibilities:

· Complete assignments that have been assigned

· Stay on task and ask for help as needed. I am here as an extra resource. I will help you.

· Your grade is determined as follows:

o In class assignments

o Notes

o Weekly Progress Report

Students will complete a weekly progress report of all classes every Monday. This will help you be PROACTIVE in your classes so that credit recovery is not something you have to complete in the future. Simply being in credit recovery DOES NOT mean that you will automatically earn the credit. It requires hard work and a dedication to learning, staying focused, and passing your tests.

Specific Computer Expectations:

· No food or drinks in class during regular hours, especially around computers.

· No listening to music (unless given permission) or playing games/watching videos. NO STREAMING!


1. If a red magnet is displayed in the teacher’s classroom, once the bell rings to begin class, students must turn off cell phones/electronic devices and stow them properly in a book bag or pocket. Cell phones are to remain off the entire block unless teacher permission for use is given.


2. During class, if the teacher displays a green magnet, students will only use cell phones to complete assignments that are related to the instructional lesson or any other approved activity WITH teacher permission and supervision.


3. Students will not record still or moving images or voices of students or the teacher without permission from the teacher on Snapchat or any other social media.


4. Students will place phones in book bags or pockets during all assessments. Cell phones must remain there until ALL assessments have been collected.


5. Students will adhere to District 6 Internet Student Use Policy listed on the next page.


6. Students are not to have headphones in at any point during the day unless it is part of the classroom instruction.


When a device is in use in the classroom, students WILL NOT:

Answer an incoming text message or phone call without permission from the teacher.

Be on any social media site (Facebook, Twitter, etc...)

Access or play any game or access any entertainment site on their device

Access or use any application (app) on their device unless expressly instructed to by the instructor

Take any picture or video that the instructor has not expressly asked you to take

Upload any picture or video taken in any class to any social media site or website

SMS (text) message or email any picture or video taken in class to any person, including themselves

Access any type of mobile web browsing for any reason unless directed by the instructor

Take any picture, video or text any class assignments or assessments without permission


When a device is in use in the classroom, students WILL NOT:

Students bringing cellular telephones or electronic devices to school do so at their own risk. Greeley School District 6 will not assume any liability for any lost, stolen or damaged cellular telephone and/or any other electronic devices either in school or in their possession.
