Advanced Learning Plans

As the year starts, your student will work with their GT Specialist to update/create their Advanced Learning Plan (ALP). The Advanced Learning Plan is a written record of a student’s body of evidence, strengths, learning goals, and programming that supports a meaningful education necessary for the continuous development and growth of gifted and talented students. Along with goals, your student and you will be able to pick the level of support that will best meet their needs, as well as a trusted adult who will be their point person (someone they will be comfortable checking in with). Below you can see the levels of support, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's specialist if you have any questions.

Free breakfast and lunch for District 6 students this school year

All students in Greeley-Evans School District 6, including students attending charter schools, can access free breakfast and lunch this school year as a result of the District 6 Board of Education’s unanimous vote on Monday, August 8, to fund school meals for the 2023-2024 school year for all students who do not otherwise qualify.

In order to eat for free, parents must complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application, regardless of the family’s income level. The application is available online at https://www.d6schoolfood.org/school-meal-benefits. If you haven’t already, please fill out this application today!

Exciting Opportunities for Students

We have two great opportunities for students to showcase their talent with the 2023 CAGT Conference Attendees.

Art Contest:

CAGT would like to invite students from around Colorado to share their outstanding artistic talents with the attendees at this year’s conference.

Students who attend any K-12 school or homeschool can create their artistic interpretation of our conference theme,

Imagine, Believe, Grow and share it with us this fall at CAGT’s Annual Conference, October 8-10, 2023.

Accepted artwork will be displayed at the John Q  Conference Center at the Embassy Suites in Loveland for our conference participants to view and vote on their favorites.

All contest information criteria are included in this flier link.

Talent Video:

We challenge you to create a TikTok-style video (about 20 seconds long) showing off your amazing talent!  We're looking for something that other people your age can't do as well as you.

The best videos will be compiled into a student talent video showcase that will be shown at this year's CAGT Conference.

Colorado students... show us what you've got!
