What problem are we solving?

The traditional voluntary Carbon Market is fundamentally limited.

Not fully additive

Carbon certificates are granted not only to project that sequester carbon from the atmosphere, such as reforestation, but also to Solar Panel farms, on the basis of the potential carbon emission difference between the solar farm and a coal plant project.

Cost-inefficient

For every dollar invested in a reforestation project that has a carbon credit certification, only 20 cents goes the actual planting of a tree.

Non-scalable

Carbon Markets reforestation projects are audited by organisations that send consultants into the field. This process can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and is not scalable.

Not accessible to small companies

Individuals and small companies do not have access to themarket in which carbon credits are traded in tons.

Why mangroves?

Mangroves are the most efficient technology to capture carbon from the atmosphere. They store up to 10X more carbon than temperate trees and sequester carbon up to 100X faster than temperate forests.

Mangrove forests also protect coastal communities from cyclones, tsunamis, and typhoons, and forms a living lattice for coastal food webs. Not only do mangroves protect biodiversity, they create livelihoods for local communities, including providing employment for women in planting and aquaculture.
