A 1 hour meeting with a team focused on discussing the strengths and needs of a class or grade level, targeting a competency or skill within a competency based on the student strengths and needs. Finally, the team will plan SEL instruction from the lens of skill and strategy lessons, classroom environment, teacher words and language and additional SEL practices.
This session will guide teams in looking at their SEL report card data. The staff will follow a gap analysis protocol that both examines their building compared to district data, as well as grade level compared to building data. This session may be followed by a planning session that includes planning SEL instruction from the lens of skill and strategy lessons, classroom environment, teacher words and language and additional SEL practices.
Now that teams have used the SEL section of the report card this training may be useful to be sure teams are firmly anchored in on the meaning of the report card ratings N (Need), T (Target) and S (Strength). This PD includes discussion around what it means to have an end of the year goal and how students should be scored based on progression towards the end of the year targets.
