Students will learn the effect they have on others through both exclusion and inclusion. The day before this lesson students will track their social interactions by documenting the students they talk to and tallying students with whom they have multiple conversations. During the lesson the class will listen and interact with the story “The Invisible Boy” and will notice the effect that lack of interaction has on the invisible boy. Students will also notice the effect of positive interactions on this character. Following the read aloud, students will connect this learning to their own social web.
