This camp is free to Arkansas students currently in grades 6, 7, and 8. Applications are due Friday, May 2nd.
Operation A.I.M.S. is a 4 day/3 night residential summer program on the campus of Arkansas State University. Students will become “junior” medical students at the NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine and explore all health related professions offered. A.I.M.S will focus on STEM concepts and utilize hands-on experiences to investigate the different specialties of the medical arts, sciences, and professions.
NOTE: This camp is for current Arkansas 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students.
Eligibility
Students must be from Arkansas
Students entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grade during the upcoming academic year (2024-25) are eligible for application and selection.
Applicants must demonstrate:
Creativity and critical thinking in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math
Above average problem solving skills
A high degree of self-motivation
The intellectual, social, and emotional maturity required to create meaningful relationships to be able to work with others.
Nominees must be willing to commit to the entire program
All qualified students will be considered for selection regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic status, cultural, or language differences.
Application Process
The following forms and documents must be submitted by May 2nd for the student to be considered by our Selection Committee:
Student Application to be completed and submitted online by the student or parent/guardian.
Teacher/Community Member Recommendation to be completed and submitted by a teacher or community member (not a parent or guardian) who has experience in a working or learning environment with the student. Please submit a name and an email address on application and a short survey will be sent.

Families are responsible for transportation to and from Arkansas State University.
