To save time pre-build the DIY seismograph (https://www.sciencebuddies.org/stem-activities/make-a-seismograph)
Instruct one student to stabilize the box with their hands
Instruct another student to slowly pull the paper strip through the box from one side to the other side.
Instruct student holding the box to begin shaking the box in all directions with varying force while the paper is continued to be pulled.
Instruct student to stop shaking the box for a few seconds before shaking the box for a second time.
Show students results on the receipt paper.
