VMod: Vacation Mode Auto-reply (VMod)
Last Update: 01-07-2026
VMod helps you disconnect by automatically replying on WhatsApp to communications from contacts you mark as Work Contacts. This Privacy Policy explains what data VMod accesses, how it is used, and when it may be shared.
Depending on the permissions and special access you enable, VMod may access:
A) Contacts (READ_CONTACTS)
Contact names and phone numbers to let you select and maintain your Work Contacts list and to match incoming callers/messages against that list.
B) Call-related information (Call Screening)
Call events and caller details needed to detect calls from Work Contacts and apply your configured behavior using Android’s call screening capability.
C) Notifications (Notification Listener – WhatsApp)
When you enable notification access, VMod receives notification events from the system and uses them to detect WhatsApp messages from Work Contacts and trigger your auto-reply. Notification access can include notification content and metadata (for example, sender and message preview), depending on what WhatsApp posts in the notification.
VMod is designed to use notification access specifically for WhatsApp auto-replies from Work Contacts. You can disable this access at any time in Android settings.
VMod uses the above data only to provide the app’s core features, including:
Identifying which contacts are marked as Work Contacts.
Detecting calls from Work Contacts and applying call screening behavior.
Detecting WhatsApp messages from Work Contacts and sending your predefined “away” message via WhatsApp.
Work Contacts selection and your predefined auto-reply message are stored locally on your device (until you change/delete them or uninstall the app).
VMod does not run a developer-controlled backend that stores your contacts or WhatsApp messages.
A) WhatsApp messaging
When VMod sends an auto-reply via WhatsApp, the message content (your predefined text) and recipient identifiers are processed by WhatsApp and delivered to the recipient. VMod does not control WhatsApp’s handling of data.
B) Advertising (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob)
Google’s Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process data (such as device identifiers, IP address, diagnostics, and ad interaction data) for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, as described by Google.
C) In-app purchases / donations (Google Play Billing)
Donations are processed by Google Play. Your payment information is stored in your Google Account and is not shared with the developer.
VMod does not sell your personal data.
Data may be shared only:
With service providers (e.g., Google Mobile Ads, Google Play Billing) to operate ads and purchases.
Through WhatsApp when the app sends your auto-reply message (as described above).
If required for legal compliance, security, or fraud prevention.
Work Contacts and settings remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall VMod.
VMod does not store WhatsApp chat history on developer servers.
We aim to minimize data use and keep processing on-device where possible. Third-party SDKs (such as Google Mobile Ads) encrypt data in transit as described in their documentation.
You can:
Enable/disable Vacation Mode anytime.
Add/remove Work Contacts anytime.
Edit your auto-reply message anytime.
Revoke permissions/special access in Android settings (contacts, notification access, call screening). Features may stop working if access is revoked.
VMod is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Effective date” when changes are made.
