Gray's Farm Primary Academy

Reception Starters 2021

WELCOME!

As the time approaches for your child to start school at Grays Farm Primary Academy, we would like to take the opportunity to warmly welcome you and keep you updated on our plans.

Hopefully you have already received your letter inviting you to visit us at Gray’s Farm Primary Academy in June and July. Unfortunately due to the change in the road map and the COVID restrictions that are in place, our September arrangements will look at little different this year.

Please see the copy of the letter sent to parents on Friday 18th June 2021 to let them know the induction plans prior to starting in September 2021.

The letter also outlines the September arrangements for a short settling in period.

From our Headteacher...

We are a ‘Good’ two form entry school with a part time Nursery. Our mission statement is Believe, Achieve, Succeed; a motto that we feel reflects the commitment to child centered learning. We see every child as an individual within the community and we have high expectations of behaviour, of effort and of parental support, both for their own children and for the school.

It is important to us that the children are happy, confident, resilient and enjoy their learning; making the most of all the opportunities we have to offer. We have developed a wider curriculum that is creative, inclusive and exciting. It provides children with a broad range of learning experiences which seek to nurture talents and acquire new skills in a hands-on and engaging way. It is our aim for all children to have a deeper understanding of the world around them and to become responsible and caring citizens of the future by knowing more and remembering more. We ensure that all learning is purposeful and linked to children's own experiences so they are engaged, challenged and become highly effective problem solvers and communicators.

Pupil and staff wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do, we aim to educate the whole child in order to enable them to be the best that they can be. As a school we work hard to ensure that when our children leave us they are equipped with attributes which will set them up for success in the future. These are: compassion, confidence, perseverance, knowledgeable, reflective and aspirational.

Our premises are clean and welcoming and our office staff are friendly and ensure the smooth running of the school. We have a head teacher, one deputy head teacher and one full time assistant head teacher and two part time assistant headteachers. These leaders are able to support teachers across the school in their own professional development, including modelling good and outstanding teaching.

Gray’s Farm is proud to be a part of TKAT Multi Academy Trust. The Trust consists of 30 Primary schools and 15 Secondary who work closely in partnership together for the benefit of all of our children.

At Gray’s Farm we value the partnership between home and school and parents and carers are encouraged to discuss any concerns or worries they may have with the school. The happiness, well-being and success of every child are of utmost importance to us and it is only through a supportive partnership between child, parent and school that we can achieve this. Whilst we always strive for the highest standards, occasionally we don’t get it right - but we always listen, consider, reflect and strive to improve.

Thank you for taking the time to look at our transition and school websites. I hope that they can give you a flavour of our school, but we would be very happy for you to visit - our children are our best ambassadors and would love to show off their school.

School Meals

All children in Reception and KS1 receive Universal Free School Meals. This means that your child is entitled to a free school meal each day. Our advice is for your child to try school dinners initially as the first half term we are flexible as we are aware that some children do not like all the food that is on offer to start with.

The company that we use for school dinners at school is Caterlink.
