Cadet numbers this fall are lower than ever before, we typically have 160 ish at this point, currently we have 110 cadets. This is 100% due to virtual options, we have over 50 former cadets taking virtual now and we (the system) don't allow the virtual option in JROTC. The good news is that the quality of cadets we have is the highest ever, so that's great news.
Uniform Days will be twice a month, this year Cadets will only wear their uniforms in their JROTC Classes, exceptions to wear them in school will be approved from time to time. Veteran's Day (11 NOV) will be a day when most Cadets will want to wear their uniform all day. We do have lockers for each Cadet, I recommend they keep their uniforms in the locker so they don't forget to bring them on uniform Day. Also this year physical fitness days are staggered in hopes of lessening the spread of germs and viruses.
Home Footballs Game: We will be working parking details for home football games. We do feed the Cadets before parking begins so anyone wanting to help with food, drinks desert etc please let me know. Home games are: 18 SEP (Mayfield), 2 OCT (Ohio CO), 9 OCT (Grayson CO), 23 OCT (Muhlenberg CO) and 30 OCT (Marshal CO).
Raiders: We practice on Tues and Thurs from 3:15 -4:30. The only fall raider event this fall is Logan CO on 3 OCT. All remaining events are moved to the spring to include Raider Nationals in GA where they have scheduled us to compete on Friday 26 FEB 2021. My goal this year is to have an all female team and an all male team.
Veteran's Day : We will recognize the 75th anniversary of the ending of WWII this year, it will all be virtual/recorded. I'm looking for WWII vets that are able to be interviewed or at least be able to hear their story. There's not many of these hero's left. If you know of someone near or far) please let me know or have your cadet tell me in class.
