Dan grew up in a small farming community in Northwestern Ohio.  School brought him to the Dayton area, and he enjoyed it so much, he stayed.  However, he always remembered the sound of his tires hitting the gravel road to his parents' home, thus to honor his father, the brewery's name was born. 

Dan brings over 20 years of experience in home and professional brewing to his company.  In fact, several of his brews have won medals in the U.S. Open for Beer.  He is also a historical scholar and teaches history of brewing adult education classes at local colleges and universities when he isn't in the brewery.
