Deconstructing numbers:

• Students count the fish in the center and type the total in the blue box.
• Students drag and drop the fish from the center fish bowl into the bowls on the left and right.
• Students count the fish in each of the bowls and record the totals below the bowls.
• The final slide can be used for the students to create their own starting bowl and repeat the activity.

Students learn how to copy and paste elements of snowmen from different slides. As an extension, you can show them how to use picture tools to change colors and how to rotate objects using the handle. This is a modified version of the slideshow by Eric Curts of Control Alt Achieve.

1-1 correspondence: Students insert pictures or shapes to show the correct number on each slide.

Extension: instead of a number, each slide has an addition problem to be solved. Students use pictures or shapes to illustrate the number sentence and sum.

Tech Extension: Teach students to change the background of each slide.

Students learn to "click and drag" (drag and drop) buttons from the side of the screen onto the canvas, then drag the numbers over to create the correct equation and sum.

Extension: Show them how to change the + sign to a - sign and then how to insert an X shape over buttons being subtracted.
