The 2023-2024 Basketball season kicks off and Coach Tre and this team look healthier and better than ever. The tryouts for Basketball ended on Nov 7th and now there's a full roster. This Varsity basketball team includes Koli Fosita, Xian Apaisa Brown, Dominik Maxfield, Chad Ochieng, Awan Dut, Karan Makhar, Ravyl Waters, Spencer Speirs, Isaac Stevens, Jaxon Nielson, Tate Nicholls, Kaison Mayo, and Paden Sharp. First thing is these boys earned their spot on this team and were all chosen by Tre for a reason. Tre believes “these boys are all athletic and we are fast, but we do need to improve in some areas, but I have no doubt we can get there”. Their first game is on Nov 28th against Skyline High School.

They’ve been conditioning and practicing for over 3 months now to prepare for this season, and practice 6 days a week. Tre says “We will get better but that’s if we decide to stay on course and work extremely hard”. They just have to stick to a strategy and work as a team for this season to go smoothly. These new kids have tons of skill and speed but just lack the experience. Coach Tre’s expectations for this first game is “as long as they stay in their comfort zone and play as a team they should play at a high level”.

They will be playing away at Skyline High School and will need to lock because it’s at Skyline’s Home court and fans will be off the roof for the first game. They just can’t get distracted and need to focus on playing at their own skill levels and contribute to the game. As long as they do that all they will need to do is discipline themselves to a point where nothing is uncomfortable and you feel untouchable and unfazed.
