The lights in the Cyprus High auditorium still shine upon the stage just the same as years before, but for the past two years something has been missing from the stage: talent willing to step into the spotlight.

Last Friday night, I begrudgingly went with my parents to see the original Jurassic Park at Cinemark in West Valley.

Cyprus high school's first prom landed in 1928 where it was the first formal event in the new “gym"; the gym represented the golden gardens.

On August 21, 2025 at the beginning of Cyprus, yearbooks were announced publicly to the students as a chance to own and pre-order their yearbook as it progressively grew closer month by month to soon start being handed out on April 18, 2026. 

The 2025-2026 school year marked the beginning of a new scenery for Cyprus students. 

Being one of the longer breaks of the school year, spring break extends from April 6, 2026 to April 10, 2026, giving students and teachers an entire week off for their activities. 

For years student interest, attendance, and enjoyment of our school dances at Cyprus have been waning. In mainstream media, dances are a quintessential part of the high school experience. 

Cyprus’ Prom will be on April 18, 2026 at the Publik Spaces.

Cyprus will host its Spring concert in May featuring solo ensembles, the Cyprus choirs C-Shanties and Sirens, with accompaniment by Karoun Arslanian.

The auditorium at Cyprus High school is finally finished after months of battles to get it done, students are finally able to perform.

Cyprus High School students packed the gym last week for the annual Spirit Bowl assembly, the highlight of Spirit Week, where the different grades compete in games and challenges to show off their school pride.

Cyprus High School Choir Department hosts Region Four Choral Solo and Ensemble Festival in new facilities on March 11, 2026.

Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of The Opera started its tour in November of 2025 and is scheduled to run through September of 2027, going around the U.S. to give many an equal chance to see the Broadway version of the Phantom of The Opera.

The survey also asked students “What is your favorite gum brand?” The survey revealed that 74.7% of students said Extra is their favorite brand. 

Three months into the 2025 school year the Cyprus High School auditorium is still incomplete, a situation that has left performing art classes finding it difficult to work around the delay.
