The Upcoming Solar Eclipse Happens On The Second Week Of April

On Monday April 8, 2024 there is going to be a total solar eclipse happening.The eclipse will be cutting through the central part of Mexico and across the United States, from Texas to Maine as well as Canada. 


The eclipse will start on Mexico’s Pacific Coast around 11:07 AM PDT (Pacific Daylight Time) and will exit North America on the Atlantic Coast of Newfoundland, Canada at 5:16 PM. 


The path of the total eclipse will be from Mexico, then entering the United States in Texas, then traveling to Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Also parts of Tennessee and Michigan will be able to see the total eclipse. Then It will enter Canada in southern Ontario and will continue in Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton. It will exit on the Atlantic Coast. 


Astronomy teacher Mr. Page will be going to Texas to see the Total Solar Eclipse. He said. “ I am very excited to see the total eclipse because I got to see one a couple years back and it was an amazing experience with my family”. He also said, “ I am not going to really bring any fancy equipment and instead I am going to bring a collider, strainer, or maybe the sheets from the hotel but that's about it”.
