Ryan Dickison on March 28th, 2025, in Cyprus High School.
Ryan Dickison, also known as Profe, will leave Cyprus High School to become an assistant principal at the end of the 2025 school year.
Ryan Dickinson got an intern assistant principal position at a different school next year, which has yet to be determined.
Ryan Dickison learned more about what administrators do, and he thought, “I could do that,” even though it was not on his radar until three years ago.
When Ryan Dickison got the job with the student government, he stated, “I saw more of what administrators do and the different leadership positions they do, I might as well pursue it and see where it goes.”
“If I can't get in, then at least I still have a job I like, but if I do get in, then it’ll be a good experience to try out,” states Ryan Dickison.
This is what his brother Zach Dickison has to say about why Ryan Dickison is a good fit for this position: “He has all the skills necessary to be a good administrator. He has great communication skills, doesn’t shy away from difficult conversations, makes quick, effective decisions, knows what good teaching looks like, and builds strong relationships with students and other teachers. These are all essential to have to be a good fit as an assistant principal.”
Ryan Dickison says, “Leaving the classroom is bittersweet. I enjoy teaching, being with the students, being able to be creative, laughing with the students, and seeing their successes, but I have been doing this for a long time and feel like I need to be somewhere else.”
Zach Dickison has some advice and words of encouragement for Ryan Dickison before he leaves: “WORK HARD. Stand up for what you know to be right when making decisions. Preparation will save you lots of stress and difficulty. Trust your instincts. Don’t doubt yourself. You are qualified!”
If students are feeling sad about Ryan Dickison’s departure, here is what Ryan Dickison has to say: “I am glad you're sad because that means that you care and I care that we've built a relationship, but I’ll still be around and I will come to visit.”
“I’m sad but also happy for him. He has worked very hard to get this position and he deserves it. I will really miss working with him, but I’m excited for all that he will do as an administrator.” That is how Zach Dickison is feeling about Ryan Dickison leaving.
