Misuse of Cyprus School Restrooms Increases this School Year

Cyprus students' misuse of the bathroom in Cyprus High School is increasing during the 2024-2025 school year.
This is becoming more of an issue as the school year goes on. “rather than using the bathrooms for their intended use, they either go in there to hang out, which unfortunately occurs every day, and even once per week, some students indulge in illegal activities or things that aren't permitted at school” Vice principal of Cyprus High School Andy Carbaugh states.
“Most of the time that I walk into the bathrooms, I either see large groups of people or the bathrooms being misused,” Cyprus student Andres Herrera stated.
“I will never understand why students go into the restrooms to just 'hang out,' but they do all the time,” Carbaugh states.
Because of this, students who want to use the bathrooms for their intended purpose are less likely to use the bathrooms. Because of the obvious fact of not feeling comfortable being in there to even use the restrooms to begin with because of the people in there.
“The amount of misuse inside the school bathrooms throughout this year has increased more than the last school year,” Herrera states.
But there are no specific campus restrooms that are worse than the other they are equally misused between Brock and main states Carbaugh.
Carbaugh states that “it remains to be seen what the restroom situation will be” regarding how they will enforce these rules in the new school, but the same expectations will still follow from the old school to the new school.
