Utah citizens gasped at the gas prices in April 2025. About 60% of students at Cyprus High School drive to school, not including the teachers. Which makes gas prices an important thing in our society, especially with the prices lowering 

At the moment, Costco's lowest price in Utah is $2.93. The highest price is $3.70. Today's AAA national fuel price is $3.18, whereas Utah's AAA fuel price is $3.31.

Throughout the years, the highest recorded price has been in July 2022. And it was recorded at $5.75. It has now lowered but is still fluctuating.

Phrankee Wall, a student here at Cyprus High School, says,” I have been driving for almost two years now, and I am the only one who drives my vehicle. Around $60 of my paycheck goes to gas, and it usually takes about 25-30 to fill up the tank.”

Chaelor Hunter, a teacher at Cyprus Highschool also says, “I have been driving for 9 years. My commute to school is 30-45 minutes, depending on traffic, any my husband both drive the car. The gas prices affect a good amount, gas is pretty expensive, and it’s not the easiest thing with our current economy.”
