A colorful playground set stands behind Cyprus High School, ready for young students to play this fall 2025.
Cyprus High School has now opened it’s brand-new preschool program. Child development and preschool teacher Katelin Cherono said “I am really excited to finally have a preschool here at Cyprus High.” The program gives high school students a unique opportunity to learn about early childhood education while helping younger children grow and learn in a fun environment.
Josh Sanders, a teacher and parent of one of the preschoolers, said “I chose this preschool program especially for my son, because it allows him to stay close by during the school day.” By having the preschoolers only come to school twice a week for a very short time period. Preschool students have already visited their classroom and met their teacher.
The preschool is located on the first floor in Room 1514, allows high school students in the child development program to work directly with preschool-aged children. The preschool not only benefits the children who attend but also prepares students for future careers in teaching and childcare. It’s a program that builds learning, leadership, and lasting friendships.
