Students at Cyprus High School are anticipating a new campus that is supposed to be done by the 2025 School year. A few students were spoken to, and their thoughts and opinions were gathered.
When asked, “Why do you think the move to a new school is helpful to your education?” Axel Jardinez (10) answered, “ It's helpful to me because you don't have to walk campus to campus, tiring yourself out, and all the new equipment they are giving the teachers will honestly help us a lot. " In contrast, Makayla Parry (10) answered, “The new school is going to bring a lot more opportunities for the students.”
When asked, “How do you feel about the changes that come with attending the new Cyprus High School?” Jardinez stated that he feels grateful for all the new things we get and an entirely new building. Parry explained that even though she has mixed feelings about it, she thinks that it will be nice.
Our interviewees were asked, “What are your thoughts on the facilities and resources available at the new Cyprus High School?” Jardinez responded, “My thoughts on the resources we are getting at the new school are honestly what we need and more. It'll be perfect for encouraging more teachers and students to be better.”
When asked, “Who are you most excited to see at the new school?” The students responded in a couple of different ways. Jardinez said he was super excited to see his friends and some of his teachers. Parry, on the other hand, responded, “I’m most excited to see all of my friends and to make new ones.”
When asked, “When do you think you'll feel comfortable in the new environment?” Jardinez said, “I think ill probably feel more comfortable around the second quarter or so; I just need time to feel comfortable in the new environment.” Parry explained that she will probably feel more comfortable after she learns her way around the school.
As the final question, “Where do you think the best hangout spots will be at the new school?” was asked, we had varying responses. Jardinez stated, “I've never personally seen the school, but for sure the cafeteria and maybe the gym.” On the other hand, Parry said that she thinks the commons will be the most popular spot to hang out at because it's supposed to be nice.
Overall, students seem to be excited yet anxious about moving to a new school.
