The $uicideboy$ is two cousins who originated in New Orleans, Louisiana.
The cousins joined together in 2014
Their music highlights depression, and pain. Former Cyprus student Danny López stated “you also got thematics of addiction in songs.”
The $uicideboy$ has been said to have a big impact on teens across the U.S and some parts of the world. Teen fan Lee Allen was asked about the impacts on her she shared that “It healed me in ways I didn't know it could. I feel at peace with myself.”
According to Innerbody around two million 12-17 year olds have admitted to having done drugs in the last month. 83.88% have used Majuanna. 61.5% have consumed alcohol by the time they were seniors in high school. Around 4,700 15-24 year olds die a year from drug overdoses.
López even got “G59” tattooed on his left arm. According to tattoo clues G59 started to stand for addiction and mental health as well as bring the people who like their music together as a community.
The $uicideboy$ have been around since 2013 but only was it later they made an impact. Allen said she got into them in 2019 and Lopez got into them in 2018.
“The energy was immaculate, never experienced anything like it” Lopez stated. “The energy was amazing. It heals something in me” Allen shared.
Grey day is an annual concert that started in 2019 and isn’t planning on stopping anytime soon.
