The students of Cyprus High School do not use the lockers, and only a small number of students get to use them in the first place, compared to older generations of students, where every single person got their own locker. 

Even though current students are torn between wanting to have a locker and not wanting to have a locker. 

Some students said in a survey why they wouldn't want a locker: “I wouldn't need a locker because I can fit everything in my backpack and nothing gets lost.” 

While other students who want lockers say in the survey that it would help to have a locker, “It can help you keep track of your school work in one area instead of bringing it home to where it can get misplaced or lost.”

Students were then asked in the survey whether they think lockers have more benefits or negatives. The students who talked about the benefits of lockers said:

 “You can keep extra clothes and shoes for certain p.e classes, or you can keep your winter coat in it during the harsh winters.” 

while others who think lockers have negative effects said “Having to much room where it could get messy, you could leave food in there and then it can get moldy and start to smell bad”. 

A high school student Allison Dean said the lockers are not being used: “I wish I could have a locker, it would be such a quality of life thing for me”. 

The students of Cyprus High School are entirely split on whether they would want lockers for their benefit or think they are obsolete.
