Hula hoop. Practice hooping 5-10x in a row! Try hooping on your arm or neck. Place your hoop on the ground and jump in and out of your hoop 10x. Play a song and hoop for the entire song! If you make a mistake, just keep going!
Jump Rope. Place your rope on the ground in a straight line. Practice jumping with two feet over the rope and back 20x. PIck it up, hold the handles, practicing Turn-Jump slowly. You may jump with two feet, or jogger style (one foot jumps, then the other). Play a song and jump continuously til the song ends, If you make a mistake, just keep going! Long Jump Rope. Two people hold the rope, a third person jumps. What rhymes do you know? Here are some Long Rope games:
Teddy Bear - Jumper says:
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear turn around,
Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, touch the ground,
TB, TB tie your shoe, TB, TB how old are you?
Are you 1, 2, 3, ….etc.
Hot Peppers
Turn the rope so the jumper jumps 5 slow, 5 medium, 5 fast, 5 super fast
If the jumper misses, they take a handle and turn the rope.
Run Through School
Jumper runs under the rope for Kindergarten (no jump), runs around rope turners, runs in and jumps once for 1st grade, runs around turners, jumps 2x for 2nd grade, etc.
If you are not able to do this at home, practice individual jump tricks, or partner tricks if you have a partner!

Partner Jump Rope Tricks
Partners face same direction, back partner turns rope.
Partners face each other, one partner turns the rope.
Partners face each other, one partner turns the rope, other partner jumps in a circle as they jump (360).
Partners stand side-by-side, each hold a rope, inside hand holds your partner’s rope! Say “Ready, go!” and both turn ropes and jump.
