About me

I grew up in the Dallas area and moved to Utah in 2016 out of a need to be closer to mountains and cooler weather. I began college with the intent to become a school counselor. After graduating from The University of North Texas with a BA in counseling psychology, I learned that classroom teaching was the area where I could really make the biggest impact on the lives of my students. I changed my graduate major from school counseling to elementary education, and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a master's in elementary education.

As a teacher, it is vitally important to me to build quality relationships with each of my students. Students can learn anything from a kind, caring adult who takes the time to prove to them that they are loved, valued, and respected. As a school improvement specialist, I also understand the importance of engaging with families and the community, which is why I have joined the community council at Upland Terrace.

Although I spend a great deal of my time studying and practicing elementary education, I try to make lots of time for my hobbies. I love riding my escooter through Sugarhouse while playing Pokemon Go, spoiling my dogs, experimenting in the kitchen, and engaging with Utah's Jewish community. My wonderful husband, Cody, and I have been married since 2019. We are both avid gamers, foodies, and passionate about community engagement.
