You will work with your team to designate a Chemical Hygiene Officer (CHO).
๐งช CHO Responsibilities:
Complete the Science Safety Compliance Form (replaces checklist)
Submit the Hazard Communication Plan (via form)
๐ Training Change:
All staff will now complete science safety training through Vector Training.
CHO is no longer responsible for training others.

Flinn Scientific offers a collection of online courses in Lab Safety for both teachers and students. Both the Middle School Laboratory Safety Course for Teachers and the High School Laboratory Safety Course for Teachers fulfills the safety certification requirement. The course is self-paced and takes about 4 hours to complete. Please note that Flinn Scientific is a company with which access and participation in a course will require an account with them.ย
The Utah Science Teaching Association (UtSTA) in partnership with the Utah Education Network (UEN) offers a a four-week online safety certification course. It is associated with 1.0 USBE credit and helps to assure that all our science teachers are knowledgeable about the safe science classroom and laboratory practices.ย
