2021-2022 Professional Learning and Instructional Preparation Days
Before Students Attend - Summary Points
Three days are allocated to schools for professional learning before students attend.
Each day may be separated into morning and afternoon sessions.
Morning sessions will be reserved for content presentation acknowledging quality presentations include time for collaborative activities.
Afternoon sessions may be reserved for content collaboration acknowledging quality collaborative products result from norms, agendas, and action plans.
An afternoon session may be reserved for compliance training.
School leadership teams will choose (from a variety of menu options) the professional learning that best meets the needs of their school.
The school leadership team will be provided with content materials for the professional learning they select. The professional learning presentation and collaboration will be designed by the school leadership team.
Leadership teams may decide to collaborate with other schools horizontally or vertically to design professional learning.
The menu of options, supporting materials, and district office contact will be housed on the graniteway.org website.
Reporting of school plans are to be made to principal’s Leadership and Improvement Director using this link.

Teachers willing to complete the independent module work outside of the workday, attend the end of year PD, and pass the assessment can earn a total of $3,000
All teachers will participate in the required contract days of: Aug 11, 12, Sept 17, Nov 29, Feb 22
*Stipend of $300 per completion of each of the 6 independent modules outside of the workday (up to $1800 for all 6 completed outside of the workday)
**Stipend of $600 for PD day June 3rd (7 hours)
**Stipend of $600 for completion and passing grade on cumulative assessment following Units 1-4
Optional UVU Credit will be available for teachers who apply for it for full completion and passing of Units 1-4 (6 hours credit)
Teachers who are not able to complete the 6 6-hour days for module work on their own time will complete the required days of: August 11, 12, Sept 17, 2 6-hour days between Sept 20-Nov 26 (with sub), Nov 29, 2 6-hour days between Nov 30-Feb 18 (with sub), Feb 22, 2 6-hour days between Feb 23-Jun 2 (with sub), and optional Jun 3 which includes last PD ($600) and completion and passing of cumulative assessment ($600)
