About Ms. Baldridge

Education/Career

Ms. Becca Baldridge graduated from Southern Utah University in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts Education, with an endorsement in secondary English education.

In 2023, she completed a Masters of Arts in Teaching, with an emphasis in Fine Arts, graduate degree from the University of Utah. 

During her time in Cedar City, Ms. Baldridge worked for the Utah Shakespeare Festival as a Teaching Artist, where she taught a variety of theatre-based workshops to a variety of participants, from elementary and secondary students to working professionals. 

After she graduated from SUU, she taught at a K-12 private school for 2 years, and directed 3 full-length productions, Charley's Aunt, Roger and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and Up the Down Staircase. Her most recent directed production was an elementary musical in Granite School District, Roald Dahl's, James and the Giant Peach Jr. 


She has been teaching since fall of 2018, and has been a drama specialist as part of Granite School District's Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program since fall of 2020. 

Background in the Arts

Ms. Baldridge has dabbled in numerous art forms throughout her life. She has been involved in theatre since the age of 5, acting in a variety of plays and musicals during her school years, competing in theatre competitions, and eventually found her passion for directing during her last year of high school. At a young age, she also found a love for singing. She began singing in choir, taking private vocal lessons, and soon found her way on stage singing and dancing with the performing arts studio, Clayton Productions. 

During college, Ms. Baldridge continued to participate in choral singing, and gained some experience stage managing and directing projects at SUU. 

World Traveler

Ms. Baldridge also enjoys traveling. Some of her favorite destinations include London, New York, Chicago, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Hawaii, Japan, and Mexico.

About the BTS Program

Arts Integration in Elementary Education

The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program provides arts-integrated instruction to elementary students, effectively increasing student performance in every subject. BTS Arts puts specialists trained in visual art, dance, music and theatre in elementary schools to develop lesson plans that incorporate art. The Utah State Board of Education administers the program statewide, and collaborates with administrators and university staff from Brigham Young University, Dixie State University, Southern Utah University, University of Utah, Utah State University, Weber State University, and Westminster College. 

Additional Resources

Established by Beverley Taylor Sorenson in 1995, Art Works for Kids provides support to educators and arts organizations that provide innovative and sequential fine arts education for the children of Utah.
