Question and Answer

Question #1: What are two initiatives you will work on as an SBO next year if you are elected?

My first initiative is to promote more Colt pride, and to do that, I want to try "Colt Pride Fridays." If you wear any type of Colt gear, there will be an incentive if you participate! My second initiative is to increase participation in school assemblies and create new traditions that make them more engaging and special to our school.

Question #2: What does it mean to you to be a Colt?

I love being a Colt! To me, it means showing up for my school, bringing the energy, and having fun at all the best events—football games, basketball games, the school play, music performances, and so much more!

Question #3: What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?

We want everyone to join in on all the fun activities! I believe the best way to welcome and include everyone is by being mindful of the diverse backgrounds and experiences that make up our school. With that in mind, we should choose themes and find ways to promote school spirit that bring us together as one school and one community.

Question #4: What advice do you have to stay motivated with attendance and academics throughout the year?

Connect with others in class! Whether it’s with your teacher or your peers, building connections makes class so much more enjoyable. It’s always more fun to attend classes when you know people and can have great conversations. Get to know your classmates—you probably have more in common than you think! Also, take elective classes that interest you. It’s always a great experience to learn about something you're passionate about!
