I am running for class historian because I want to help remember all the awesome things we do at CHS. As a cheerleader, I love showing school spirit and making sure everyone feels included and excited about what’s happening. My goal as historian is to take pictures, write about our fun events, and help everyone look back on great memories. I am organized, responsible, and always ready to help out. I think my experience as a cheerleader will help me bring lots of energy and new ideas. I want to make sure our class is remembered for all the good times we share. I will work hard to make CHS a place we can all look back at and remember all our memorys

Question #1: What are two initiatives you will work on as a Class Officer next year if you are elected?
School Spirit Weeks and More Events: I want to help organize more fun Spirit Weeks and themed events so everyone can get involved and show their colt pride. These events will make school more exciting and help us all connect as a class.
Question #2: What does it mean to you to be a Colt?
To me, being a Colt means always showing kindness, school spirit, and teamwork. It’s about supporting each other, working hard in and out of the classroom, and being proud to represent Cottonwood. Being a Colt means leading by example, cheering on friends, and making sure everyone feels welcome. I believe that when we show respect and positivity, we make our school a better place for everyone. Being a Colt also means facing challenges with courage and never giving up, no matter how tough things get. It’s about helping others, trying your best, and celebrating our accomplishments together.
Question #3: What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?
One way I would help everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included is by letting students vote on more of our school activities and events. This way, everyone can have a say in what happens at our school, like picking spirit week themes or even new clubs to start. When students get to help make decisions, it makes them feel like their opinions matter and helps everyone feel more connected and excited to be part of Cottonwood
Question #4: What advice do you have to stay motivated with attendance and academics throughout the year?
My advice to stay motivated with attendance and academics is to set small, realistic goals for yourself and celebrate when you reach them. Try to get involved in school activities or clubs that you enjoy, because being part of something fun makes coming to school easier. Surround yourself with positive friends who encourage you to do your best, and don’t be afraid to ask teachers for help if you’re struggling. Remember to take breaks and reward yourself for working hard you’ll feel proud of what you accomplish! Most importantly, keep reminding yourself why your education matters and how it will help you reach your future goals.
Question #5: What are some qualities that make a great leader?
Some qualities that make a great leader are being a good listener, showing respect to everyone, and always being honest. A great leader is someone who encourages others, helps solve problems, and isn’t afraid to take responsibility. They are positive, fair, and willing to work hard for their team. Most importantly, a great leader sets a good example for others and makes sure everyone feels included and valued.
Question #6: What is a leadership quality you have and how will it help you be a good Class Officer at Cottonwood?
One leadership quality I have is that I like to give people multiple options and make sure everyone has a voice. I believe it’s important for everyone to feel included when making decisions, whether it’s about school events, spirit days, or other activities. By letting people vote or share their ideas, I can help make sure our class chooses things that most students are excited about. This will help me be a good Class Officer because I’ll work to make Cottonwood a place where everyone feels their opinion matters.
Question #7: What specific qualifications do you have for your intended position?
I think I’m a good fit for historian because I go to a lot of school events to cheer on our teams, so I’m always there to capture important moments. I’m good at taking photos and making sure everyone is included in memories. I also believe it’s really important to document what happens during the year so we never forget all the fun times . It would mean a lot to me to be able to help capture our high school years so we can always look back and remember
I love taking pictures at school events, games, and just everyday moments with friends. My favorite photos are the ones where everyone is having fun, showing school spirit, or supporting each other, whether that’s cheering at a game or just hanging out at lunch. I think capturing these moments is important because they help us remember all the good times we share together. As historian, I will use my passion for photography to make sure everyone is included in our memories. I’ll attend as many events as possible, post updates and photos on Instagram, and create slideshows and videos so we can all look back and see what made our year special. It would mean a lot to me to help document our high school years and make sure we never forget them!
