YOUR MEMORIES.
YOUR HISTORIAN.
I enjoy taking photos that capture real and meaningful moments that people can look back on and remember for a long time. Even though I am a quieter person, I pay very close attention to details, emotions, and the small moments that others might not always notice. I believe that being observant is an important strength, especially for a Historian, because it allows me to capture genuine experiences and real feelings. I like photographing friendships, school spirit, and everyday experiences that make high school special and memorable. Whether it is students laughing with their friends, supporting each other at events, or simply enjoying time together, I want to capture those moments so they are never forgotten. I believe that some of the most important memories are not always the loudest or biggest ones, but the quiet, real, and meaningful moments that truly show who we are as a school community.
I am a kind, honest, and caring person who enjoys helping others and making people feel comfortable and included. I try to treat everyone with respect and positivity, and I believe that small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day. As someone who speaks more than one language and comes from a Somali background, I deeply value diversity, culture, and inclusion. I understand how important it is for every student to feel seen, respected, and represented, no matter where they come from or what their background is. Being part of a diverse community has helped me appreciate different perspectives and understand the importance of making everyone feel welcome. I want to help create an environment where all students, no matter their culture, language, or personality, feel like they truly belong at Cottonwood High School. I believe that every student has a story that deserves to be recognized, respected, and remembered.
As Historian, I will work hard to capture a wide variety of moments from all students and make sure different voices and experiences are included. I will attend school events, take photos and videos, and highlight the positive moments that bring our school together. I want to create content that reflects the true spirit of Cottonwood High School and shows the pride, unity, and energy of the student body. I will focus on capturing both big events and small everyday moments so that everyone feels included, not just a few groups. My goal is to create photos and videos that students can look back on in the future and feel proud, happy, and connected to their school community.
I am responsible, dedicated, and committed to doing my best in everything I do. I take my responsibilities seriously, and I am willing to put in the time and effort needed to succeed in this role. I also value teamwork, listening to others, and continuing to improve so I can represent the student body in the best way possible. As a Historian, I will do my best to create meaningful, inclusive, and unforgettable memories for everyone, and I will proudly represent Cottonwood High School in a positive and respectful way.
