My name is Laura Heffernan (Ms. Heffernan), I graduated from the University of Utah with my K-6 teaching license and earned my M.Ed from Southern Utah University. I hold teaching endorsements in ESL (English as a Second Language), Technology, and Gifted and Talented Education, and I'm trained in LETRS Science of Reading Instruction. This is my 13th year as an elementary educator, I love teaching at Woodstock! I have 2 cats named Oliver and Enzo, and a dog named Daisy. In my free time, I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with my family and friends.

My teaching philosophy centers around fostering independence and curiosity. I strive to instill a love for learning and reading in each student. Building a strong classroom community is important to me, I want all students to feel safe, valued, and willing to take risks in their learning. I also believe in providing frequent hands-on, collaborative learning experiences to deepen understanding.
