My name is Mia Call, and I am running for Junior Class Historian. I am running because I love Cottonwood, and the community it gives us. I want this to be a way for me to help give back to Cottonwood, and help others see the good it brings. I want all students to feel welcome at every event, and overall just be a part of this amazing school!
Question #1: What are two initiatives you will work on as a Class Officer next year if you are elected?
I want to try and get more people to attend sports and events, and I want to increase school pride and belonging.
Question #2: What does it mean to you to be a Colt?
To be a colt means showing school pride and being inclusive.
Question #3: What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?
I would raise awareness of upcoming events and invite others to attend them.
Question #4: What advice do you have to stay motivated with attendance and academics throughout the year?
Just that even though you don't want to go or try right now, your future will be that much brighter if you do.
Question #5: What are some qualities that make a great leader?
I believe a great leader is someone who values others opinions and is open to what is best for the whole, not just what is best for them.
Question #6: What is a leadership quality you have and how will it help you be a good Class Officer at Cottonwood?
I am good at listening to others and working in a group setting, so I think I would be good at working with all the other Officers.
Question #7: What specific qualifications do you have for your intended position?
I love taking photos and attending school events, so this would give me more of a purpose.
Task: Include 5 photos you have taken that highlight Cottonwood and Colt Pride. Write a paragraph explaining what you enjoy taking pictures of and how this will help you as a class Historian.
I enjoy taking pictures that capture the moment, and will contain memories as well as the photo. As class Historian, I hope to take pictures that will help others remember all the good times from cottonwood and all the opportunities it gives us. The photos below are all from cottonwood events and I can't wait for the upcoming year!
