K-5 SUMMER LEARNING CALENDAR
Hello Fabulous FAMILIES!
Are you looking for a fun way to engage your children in learning this summer? Look no further - we have created a K-5 summer calendar for you! We worked with the math, literacy, and science specialists in Granite District to create the best summer learning suggestions for you!
How does it work?
You will find links to each grade level calendar; just click on your child's grade level they just completed. There, you will find a calendar full of links to daily learning activities in reading & math, and weekly science activities. We have also included weekly field trips for a fun adventure! Click on the activities each day and enjoy engaging learning!

WHY SUMMER LEARNING?
"Research spanning 100 years shows that students typically score lower on standardized tests at the end of summer vacation than they do on the same tests at the beginning of the summer."
(White, 1906; Heyns, 1978; Entwisle & Alexander 1992; Cooper, 1996; Downey et al, 2004).
"More than half of the achievement gap between lower - and higher -income youth can be explained by unequal access to summer learning opportunities.
(Alexander et al, 2007).
