Here at Granger High School, we have high expectations for our academic performance, attendance, and behavior. We want to recognize and celebrate when students meet these high standards that make us successful at Granger.
Teachers give digital Gold Lancer points to students to recognize positive behavior, engagement, attendance, or growth. Lancer Gold can be redeemed at the G Store during lunch for food, candy, school merchandise, or school swag items. Dance tickets and spirit bowl shirts can usually be purchased with Lancer Gold.
Prizes available at the G Store:
Food: Cup of noodles, Ramen Noodles, Candy, Pop Tarts, etc.
Clothes: Shirts, hats, hoodies, lanyards, and other items
To earn a KEY card, a teacher and student make an academic goal. When the student achieves the goal, then a teacher gives the student a KEY card which is redeemed online for a prize. If a KEY card recipient meets three additional criteria, they may have the opportunity to participate in the Keys to Success assembly for additional prizes.
The Keys to Success app will help you learn about careers you are interested in. You can also explore scholarships that match your interests. There are $160,000,000 in scholarships and tuition waivers available to Utah students there. You can also find internships and other opportunities like job fairs and how to earn certificates on the app. You can get help with the college application process on the app as well.
Teachers may nominate any class to be a "class act" for doing something great.
It can be for attendance, participation, doing well on an assessment, being respectful, or something else.
The class will be visited by administration, given a treat, and recognized on school social media.
So talk to your teachers to create a goal as a class so your class can win.
If you have 100% attendance, meaning you were marked present in every class every day, you will receive a certificate commemorating your achievement.
This achievement is great to put on a resume as evidence of your dedication!
We love recognizing students who work hard to have a high GPA and CPA each quarter. Those on the honor roll will receive a certificate in the mail at the end of each quarter that they earn it.
There are 3 types of academic honor roll certificates:
3.0 GPA - Honor Roll
3.5 GPA - High Honor Roll
4.0 GPA - 4.0 Honor Roll
Students who earn a 3.0 CPA or higher will receive a Lancer Pride certificate in the mail as well.
Each month, 2 students from every grade level are recognized by teachers for doing great things in class.
These students will be recognized during a monthly breakfast and on social media.
They also receive a certificate and prizes.
If you are interested in getting student of the month, talk with your teachers and ask them what you can do so they will nominate you.
Valedictorians are Granger High seniors who achieve a high level of academic success with a cumulative 4.0 GPA.
One Valedictorian will be chosen to speak at graduation with the Senior Class President.
This is a great achievement to put on a resume and college applications.
Many valedictorians receive scholarships for college.
Granger High School would like students to feel encouraged and honored for taking pride in academics. Students can receive an academic letter, just like an athletic letter. This is a great achievement that you can put on a resume and applications.
In order to qualify for an academic letter:
9th, 10th, and 11th grade students must receive a 3.7 GPA in 3 out of 4 quarters, each year. Students must also be taking at least 4 core classes in their schedule.
12th grade students must receive a 3.7 GPA in 3 out of 4 quarters, that year. Students must also be taking at least 3 core classes in their schedule.
