Find at the beginning of this video our book "Barbapapa" in video form. These old but beloved cartoons are watched by children all over Europe.  Later in the year we will come back to a modern Barbapapa cartoon on the causes of algae blooms.  The books were written in Paris by a Franco-American couple. they were translated in 30 languages. These characters are well known from Finland to Poland (or Japan!) if you were born in 1970 or 2020!

If you wonder why the patriarch of the family, Barbapapa, is pink, it is because his name also mean cotton candy in French. The word Barbapapa is made of barbe - à - papa (dad's beard).
