The reason I am running for Junior Class President is simply because I love the school! And because I do I want to make it an amazing place and help everyone! My goal in running is to make everyone here just that much more happy. I feel I have the qualifications for this office because I was the Stampede ASC my Freshman year, as well as Sophomore President. I plan to represent Cottonwood by showing a higher extent of kindness to everyone at the school.
Question #1: What are two initiatives you will work on as a Class Officer next year if you are elected?
Two initiatives I will be working back next year if I am elected is helping people feel like they belong at Cottonwood, as well as helping the assemblies and lunch time activities fun for everyone not just the same couple people.
Question #2: What does it mean to you to be a Colt?
To me being a colt means being kind to those who might not get the best treatment from others. That is what is so great about Cottonwood.
Question #3: What is one way you would develop activities to make everyone at Cottonwood feel welcome and included?
One way I would make activities more inclusive is expand on what kind of activites we do, we do a lot of cup stacking and musical chairs. I would like to do more jepordy type of activities during assemblies.
Question #4: What advice do you have to stay motivated with attendance and academics throughout the year?
I would say that high school is really not that long, it's really rough for a little bit but once it's over, you might regret not doing your best.
Question #5: What are some qualities that make a great leader?
Some qualities of a great leader are leading in the front and taking the worst first, and don't ask someone to do something unless I've done it first.
Question #6: What is a leadership quality you have and how will it help you be a good Class Officer at Cottonwood?
One quality that I will show is showing everyone that they matter and that their ideas do matter.
Question #7: What specific qualifications do you have for your intended position?
Some qualifications I have for Jr president is I have been Student Body President at Bonneville Jr High, as well as Stampede Officer my Freshman year, and Sophomore President this year.
I think for the task that I would design for my fellow Junior Class Officers is gonna be the classic and say we do blind drawing. How that would work is we pair up in teams of two, and those two maybe haven't talked together all too much, so I wouldn't be partners with Timmy Hiaso because I know him so well. And we have one partner be blindedfolded and also being the one to draw something that is shown to the other partner who is describing the thing in a way where the blindfolded partner can draw it. I think that is always an exellent teambuilding exercise.
