What have we been learning this quarter?
Have you ever wondered why our school has a music teacher?
Well, I'm glad you asked! Our school district is the recipient of a grant (money that doesn't need to be paid back) from the Utah State Legislature called the Beverly Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning grant. This money helps to fund an arts teacher at every elementary school in Granite, purchase new instruments and supplies for arts teachers, and other things needed to keep our kids learning and expanding their creativity!
There are lots of ways you can learn more about why arts education is so important, and there are even people you can talk to directly about making sure that our school and community continue to benefit from having arts classes in our schools. To the right is a document with some websites and people you can learn from about why art matters, and how to keep it in our school district.
If you have more questions or want to add a resource to this list, please contact Ms. B on Class Dojo or via email!
