Reporting student absence p16-attendance@grange.outwood.com
As Director of Post 16 at Outwood Grange Academy, my role is to ensure the delivery of a high-quality P16 experience. I am passionate about supporting young people through their P16 education and helping them prepare for life- whether it's for employment, university or an apprenticeship. To support our P16 community to reach their full personal and academic potential, there are 3 key strands of exemplary behaviour that we focus on and strive to uphold together.
Community
Motivation is built upon the foundation of a strong community spirit. Our young adults are fundamental in their role in the OGA family, making our academy a safe and inspiring place to be. Our students are encouraged to make safe choices, acting decisively when behaviour is unsafe.
Responsible
P16, as a community of excellence, encourage responsible learners to raise aspirations. Study periods create a learning space which is unique to P16 and create a purposeful and studious environment.
We focus on proactive learning techniques with an engaging guidance programme that nurtures valuable life skills.
Respect
We focus on championing our students as young adults, where prosocial behaviour and attitudes are highly valued. We challenge students to promote politeness, respect and courtesy to others to boost whole academy togetherness, ensuring P16 students and guidance staff feel part of the OGA team.

As the Learning Manager for Post 16, my role is to holistically support students to reach their full potential. I provide daily contact for students promoting their wellbeing, attendance, and academic achievement. I work with students to ensure their needs are met, whether that is SEND, financial, or social, emotional and mental health.
I have experience of working with our most vulnerable children, providing a variety of interventions to develop students academically, but also emotionally. I work extensively with external agencies, such as our careers team, and iSpace for metal health, to support our young people flourish at Post 16.
My previous studies have seen me achieve a Masters in Education, which allowed me to broaden my understanding of the Post-16 environment and how to help students achieve their full potential. From a personal point of view, I have always held education in a high regard as it has provided me with opportunities to push myself and fulfil my potential. I look forward to taking my passion for education and helping our students make the next step towards achieving their dreams.
