Life is about CHOICES!

If you make bad choices, these are the consequences that will follow:

  • Reminder/Warning
  • Sign Book & Parent Contact
  • Hallway Refocus & Parent Contact
  • Office Referral & Parent Contact

Students are required to bring to class each day their math composition journal, notebook paper, and a pencil.

Grading:

Six weeks averages will be based upon: daily assignments, quizzes, and tests.

Daily assignments will be graded in one of the following ways: completion, select problems, or entire assignment.

Assignments and Late Work:

All assignments must be COMPLETED and turned in ON TIME. Major grades are governed by district policy. All graded work must be completed in PENCIL. Show ALL work for credit unless otherwise directed.

LATE WORK will be accepted with a deduction of 30 points.

Corrected Work:

Most assignments with a grade below 70% can be corrected for a higher grade. Students will be made aware of any assignment to which this policy does not pertain.

Test Corrections: If you score below a 70 on a test, you MUST correct that test during tutorials. In tutorials, corrections will be documented on a separate piece of paper, missed problems will be reworked, and an explanation of what was done incorrectly will be documented. Then you are to arrange a time to come in and take a new test. If you pass that test you will receive a 70 for your test grade.

Tutorials:

Typically, tutorials are offered daily, before school and/or after school.

-Morning tutorial is from8:00 AM – 8:30 AM. Afternoon tutorial is from 4:15 PM – 4:30 PM.

Absent/Tardy Policy:

Morning tutorials are MANDATORY the first day you return to school following an absence! Math lessons build on one another. It is essential that you know what you missed BEFORE your math class upon returning to school. YOU are responsible for finding out what you missed and making up all work according to district policy. Daily assignments will be recorded in the teacher’s math journal and copies of assignments will be available in folders. School policy will be followed regarding tardies. Absent work and notes are located in the front of the room in a tray marked "ABSENT? check here for any work missed".

Skyward:

The online grade book is updated regularly. Please check your students’ Skyward Family Access account often! It is important that you stay informed and involved. Please speak with the main office to obtain login information.

Academic Integrity:

Students should remember that their work is their own and is not to be shared with other students. Helping another student by supplying the answers is CHEATING. A student who allows his/her work to be copied is just as guilty of cheating as the student who uses another person’s answers and represents them as their own. All cheating will result in academic/disciplinary actions.
