12th December 2025
Quote of the week from Mrs Bana
“Winter is a time to pause, reflect, and renew.” – Unknown
I was happy this week to be in the company of a few pupils who made the wrong choices in the playground, owned up to the behaviour and reflected on how they would do things differently next time. Sometimes our young people say and do things which are not following our school values and it is important that they recognise that by pausing, reflecting and starting anew. Thank you for your support in encouraging your child to do the right thing.

OPAL - Playground 🚸🌈
We are pleased to announce the installation of our brand-new roadway in the playground! 🛣️🎉
This exciting addition will create a fantastic space where children can safely enjoy a variety of wheeled play activities, helping to develop their balance, coordination, and confidence. 🛴🚲
To help us make the most of this new area, we need your support! 🙏
We are kindly asking for donations of any unused or unwanted scooters or tricycles 🛴🛵 that your family may no longer need.
Giving these items a new home at school will allow more children to enjoy the roadway and take part in active, imaginative play.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support! 🌟
At Grafton Primary School, we uphold high expectations for attendance from Nursery upwards because every day in school truly counts. Regular attendance is vital for children’s learning, wellbeing, and long-term progress, and even short periods of missed time can disrupt their development.
We remind all families that any leave of absence during term time must be requested in advance using the form available on our school website. In line with national guidance, term-time leave is rarely authorised and will only be approved in genuinely exceptional circumstances.
Please note that unauthorised absences may lead to a penalty notice being issued to parents or carers. Thank you for working with us to ensure every child benefits from full and consistent attendance.
We’re excited to launch brand-new after school clubs at Grafton Primary School from Monday 12th January! Our fully trained, enthusiastic team provides high-quality extracurricular care across the UK. 👩🏫🧑🏫

Thank You from Marks Gate Community Food Hub
A very big thank you to Grafton School parents and pupils who have kindly donated to our Marks Gate Community Food Club. It will make our residents' Christmas more joyful to receive some extra goodies.
A photograph attached of our two food cupboards that are now fully stocked. The cupboards were totally empty, and it has been so disheartening that we had nothing extra to offer our residents.
Once again, our heartfelt thanks. Have a wonderful Christmas.
Kindest regards
Sue Community Navigator
